Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten is a below average JRPG in almost every category. But, it has a fantastic Grandia-inspired action ring combat system that fans of turn-based JRPGs should experience.
July 2023 was kind of a mid-tier month for videogame quality. There were a few big releases, but nothing comparable to the juggernaut games from June 2023. Nothing performed exceptionally well or exceptionally poorly.
When I started working on this article for The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in August 2023, I thought that it was going to be a pretty thin month. There were a couple games I was looking forward to, which occupy our #4 and #5 spots, but I had no clue that any of our Top 3 were coming out this month. So get excited for the coming month, if you weren’t already!
June ended up being a massive month for video game releases. July is looking like a bit of a typical summer lull, before the inevitable Fall game release avalanche. But July still has some great-looking games.
June 2023 was a first. It was a month that had three high profile Game of the Year contenders, and after the results were in, they all arguably exceeded expectations.
We Love Katamari is a better game than Katamari Damacy. It has more level variety, and had multiplayer options before it was remastered. We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie is a fantastic remaster of that already great game.
Loop8: Summer of Gods is a hybrid visual novel and JRPG. It draws gameplay inspirations from Persona, and has a roguelike structure.
The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from May 2023 is full of high profile games, both good and bad.
June 2023 is a beast of a month for video game releases. Each of the top 3 games is a contender for biggest release of the year.
Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is the direct sequel to Fuga: Melodies of Steel, which also makes it the fifth game in the Little Tail Bronx series. This new title is incredibly similar to its predecessor. It has the exact same core gameplay, and uses many of the same assets.
