Get Ready for the Descent in DIEATHLONÂ
Skiing down a frozen mountain is dangerous enough, but adding a shotgun and hordes of deadly creatures makes things considerably worse. DIEATHLON, the upcoming first-person action game from independent developer Long Void Games and publisher Loopr Partners, now has an official release date. The game will launch on Steam on December 10, 2026.

DIEATHLON puts players on a high-speed descent where slowing down could mean the difference between survival and disaster. Armed with a shotgun, players must blast through hostile creatures, avoid dangerous obstacles, and make split-second decisions while maintaining their momentum.
Each run offers multiple branching routes, bringing different environments, enemies, and hazards into the mix. Players who venture away from the main path can discover hidden routes and unexpected encounters, including towering leviathans lurking beneath frozen waters. Narrow passages also leave little room for error, making movement and quick reactions essential to surviving the descent.
The game also features a variety of perks to discover, encouraging players to experiment with different approaches and return to the mountain for another run. Learning the terrain, choosing the right routes, and knowing when to take a risk will be crucial for anyone hoping to push further.
Players won’t have to wait until December to experience the action, either. DIEATHLON will participate in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, giving newcomers and returning players a chance to try the game and test their skills against its icy dangers.
With its unusual combination of downhill skiing, fast-paced gunplay, and replayable routes, DIEATHLON could be an exciting pick for action fans looking for something different. Its December launch is now firmly on the calendar, but the Steam Next Fest demo offers an earlier chance to take the plunge.
