Worm Capitalist Demo Lets You Turn Worm Poop Into Profit on Steam

Build a Profitable Empire in Worm Capitalist

Forget farms, factories, and fancy corporations. Worm Capitalist is here to prove that there’s serious money to be made by feeding hungry worms and turning their poop into profit.

Tikotey has released a free demo for Worm Capitalist on Steam, giving players their first chance to build a bizarre business empire powered entirely by an ever-hungry worm colony.

Worm Capitalist

The concept is as ridiculous as it sounds. Players buy food and increasingly strange objects, toss them into the colony, and watch their worms devour everything pixel by pixel. Their digestion produces valuable resources, which players can collect, sell, and reinvest into making the operation even bigger.

As the colony grows, players can upgrade worm speed, appetite, digestion, and overall production. The Skill Tree also lets players unlock active abilities, hire workers, and automate different parts of the business. And when things inevitably get out of hand, the Prestige system allows players to consume their entire colony in exchange for permanent upgrades before starting the whole operation again.

The free demo is available as part of Steam’s Stronger Together Demo Showcase, running from September 21 through September 28.

Worm Capitalist certainly isn’t taking the usual approach to the incremental genre, and that’s what makes it so intriguing. If the thought of building a massive worm-powered money machine sounds even remotely appealing, this could be one very strange rabbit hole, or should we say wormhole, to fall into.
