DREADMOOR Demo Launches on October 6, Bringing Its Dark Fishing Adventure to Steam

Prepare to Enter the Submerged Lands in DREADMOOR

Players will soon get a chance to explore the eerie waters of DREADMOOR, as developer Dream Dock and publisher Digital Vortex Entertainment have confirmed that the game’s PC demo will launch on Steam on October 6. The announcement came during the Secret Sauce Showcase alongside a new trailer showcasing the haunting Submerged Lands.

DREADMOOR is a first-person fishing adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world where survival depends on what you can catch. Players take control of an aging fishing boat and explore the cursed waters of the Submerged Lands, a region left devastated after a catastrophic disaster. Along the way, they’ll reel in everything from small mutated fish with razor-sharp teeth to massive predators that put up a fierce fight.

The fish you catch can be sold to purchase better equipment or dissected to collect rare organs used to craft specialized lures for even more dangerous creatures lurking in the bayou’s depths. Players can also recover scrap and wreckage to upgrade their boat for longer and riskier expeditions.

“DREADMOOR is a mash-up of our two favorite things – movies and fishing,” said Rostislav Fedorov, CEO of Dream Dock. “This demo will offer the deepest dive yet into what DREADMOOR has to offer, and with the valuable feedback we collect from our community, we will make the game even better.”

The Steam demo arrives on October 6 with support for English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Korean, Polish, Russian, Italian, and Japanese.

With its unsettling atmosphere and blend of horror and fishing mechanics, DREADMOOR looks like an indie title worth watching later this year.
