Set Out on a Relaxing Journey in Capy Castaway
Capy Castaway is almost ready to make its cozy debut, as developer Kitten Cup Studio has confirmed that the heartwarming adventure game will launch on Steam on August 6. The announcement came out during the recent Wholesome Games showcase, giving fans a fresh look at the charming capybara adventure ahead of its release.
Inspired by the real-life escape of two capybaras from Toronto’s High Park Zoo, the game follows Capy and their crow companion, Corvi, as they journey home after a devastating flood. Players can explore the world by sniffing out secrets, digging for hidden items, solving environmental puzzles, and collecting quirky hats to customize Capy. Those playing as Corvi can take to the skies to reach hard-to-access areas and even help Capy cross obstacles, making both solo play and cooperative gameplay equally enjoyable.
Capy Castaway promises a relaxing experience with creative sandbox-style puzzles, a branching narrative featuring multiple endings, and plenty of adorable interactions between its lovable animal protagonists. The newly released launch trailer also offers a glimpse at one of the game’s mysterious characters, Dragon, while featuring narration from a young capybara fan that perfectly matches the game’s wholesome atmosphere.
Adding to its cozy charm is an original soundtrack composed by Mark Sparling, best known for his work on A Short Hike. Players will also be able to purchase the soundtrack separately at launch.
Capy Castaway will be available on Steam for an introductory price of $17.99, offering a 10% discount from its regular $19.99 price. With its relaxing gameplay, heartfelt story, and charming presentation, this looks like another cozy adventure worth keeping an eye on this summer.
