Agent 64: Spies Never Die Brings Retro Spy Action to PC on August 11

Embark On Dangerous Missions in Agent 64: Spies Never Die

Retro-inspired spy shooter Agent 64: Spies Never Die is almost ready for its biggest mission. Solo developer Replicant D6 has confirmed that the N64-inspired first-person shooter will launch on PC via Steam on August 11, 2026, bringing classic espionage action back into the spotlight. A console release is also planned, though its launch date remains under wraps.

Players step into the polished shoes of secret agent John Walter as he takes on his longtime nemesis, Dominic Pulp, in a 14-mission story campaign that you can enjoy solo or in co-op. Each mission features multiple objectives, allowing players to rescue hostages, recover secret plans, infiltrate enemy locations with disguises, and eliminate threats in any order they choose. Greater difficulty levels also unlock additional maps and cosmetic rewards.

Combat stays true to the fast-paced shooters of the late ’90s while adding smoother modern controls. Players can rely on quick hip-fire attacks or carefully aim down sights as they battle enemies using a wide arsenal that includes machine guns, remote mines, plasma rifles, and more. Collectible body armor helps improve survivability during increasingly challenging missions.

Beyond the campaign, Agent 64 offers plenty of multiplayer content. Players can compete in four-player local split-screen or online matches with up to eight players, alongside AI bots. Multiplayer modes include classic Deathmatch, Zone, and Briefcase, each offering its own competitive twist.

The game also embraces nostalgia with more than 70 unlockable cheats and gameplay modifiers, including Big Heads, Melee Disarms, slow-motion bullets, and random weapon rotations through Paradox Mode.

If you’re a fan of classic 64-bit shooters or simply looking for a stylish spy adventure, Agent 64: Spies Never Die is shaping up to be one to keep an eye on when it arrives this August.
