Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares Revealed for Nintendo Switch Alongside PC and Xbox

Hidden Treasures Await in Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares

Polycast Labs has officially announced that its upcoming 3D platformer collectathon, Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares, is coming to Nintendo Switch alongside its previously confirmed PC and Xbox versions. Inspired by the golden age of 1990s platformers, the game is set to launch digitally on October 30, 2026, for Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares pays tribute to classic mascot platformers with a blend of acrobatic exploration, light combat, and collectible hunting. The game also embraces a gothic, dreamlike aesthetic inspired by Tim Burton, creating a mysterious carnival world filled with strange creatures, hidden secrets, and atmospheric environments. To celebrate the announcement, Polycast Labs has also released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the game’s eerie world and fast-paced platforming.

Players take on the role of Bobo, a cheerful circus jester whose clumsy mistake unleashes the legendary Nightmare Chest during a performance. This frees the ancient DreamMaster, a powerful being that transforms peaceful dream realms into haunting landscapes trapped in eternal twilight. Guided by the magical DreamMask, Bobo must recover scattered EchoMares, defeat corrupted spirits, and restore joy to a kingdom consumed by nightmares.

Instead of relying on brute force, Bobo uses agility, acrobatics, and clever movement to overcome obstacles and uncover hidden collectibles across semi-open levels. That design should make the game a great fit for both handheld and docked play on Nintendo Switch.

With its nostalgic gameplay, charming protagonist, and gothic fantasy setting, Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares seems like an intriguing title for fans of classic 3D platformers. It will be interesting to see how it stands out when it arrives later this October.
