HeroQuest: Digital Edition Brings Classic Dungeon Crawling to PC in 2027

Gather Your Heroes for HeroQuest: Digital Edition

The classic tabletop adventure HeroQuest is making its way to PC with HeroQuest: Digital Edition, an officially licensed adaptation from Nomad Games and Balor Games. Revealed during The MIX Fall Showcase, the game is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2027, with a closed beta playtest planned for the near future.

HeroQuest: Digital Edition brings the tabletop game’s familiar dungeon-crawling adventure to life, placing players in a battle against the sinister sorcerer Zargon, who seeks to conquer the Realm. Players can lead four iconic heroes — the Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf, and Wizard — through dangerous dungeons as they fight the forces of Dread and work to save the kingdom.

However, players won’t always have to stand on the side of good. The game also lets one player take control of Zargon, giving them the opportunity to set traps, plan encounters, and challenge the heroes throughout their adventure.

The game supports up to five players, with solo play available for those who want to control the entire party themselves. Online co-op allows up to four players to take charge of the heroes, while a fifth player can assume the role of Zargon.

Combat revolves around tactical, turn-based encounters where teamwork, positioning, and each hero’s individual abilities can make the difference between victory and defeat. Players can also create their own adventures using the Quest Editor or explore community-made content through built-in mod.io integration.

HeroQuest: Digital Edition is coming to PC via Steam in 2027, and interested players can wishlist the game now. With solo adventures, online multiplayer, and tools for creating custom quests, the digital adaptation looks set to offer plenty for both longtime HeroQuest fans and newcomers to the tabletop classic.
