Step Inside the Cursed Jungle in the Mound: Omen of Cthulhu
NACON and ACE Team have announced that The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu demo will be part of Steam Next Fest this June. It will give PC players an early chance to experience its eerie world. The playable demo will be available from June 15 to June 22, offering a glimpse of the game’s tense cooperative horror gameplay.
Set deep within a cursed jungle, the game puts players in the role of explorers searching for long-lost treasures. The demo supports up to four players in online co-op, allowing small teams to tackle a variety of missions. These range from straightforward treasure hunts to encounters with dangerous creatures lurking in the shadows.
Each expedition begins aboard a galleon, where players choose contracts and prepare their gear. Once on land, the jungle opens up with hidden ruins, abandoned forts, and traces of earlier expeditions. These locations serve as checkpoints, helping players push further into the unknown.
As the journey continues, the jungle reveals its true nature. Reality begins to shift, with strange sights and unsettling sounds slowly affecting the explorers’ sanity. Confusion can lead to mistakes, even putting teammates at risk. In a darker twist, fallen players may return in corrupted forms, turning against their own group.
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horror, the game blends exploration with psychological tension. The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is set to launch on July 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Overall, this demo looks like it will provide a solid glimpse into a tense and unpredictable co-op horror experience.
