A Huge Milestone for Gothic 1 Remake
The Gothic 1 Remake is already making waves just a week after its release, selling over 500,000 units across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The early numbers reflect not only strong sales but also a highly engaged player base.
On June 7, the game reached a peak of nearly 78,000 concurrent players on Steam, signaling strong interest from both returning fans and newcomers. Player feedback has also been overwhelmingly positive so far, with over 15,000 user reviews on the platform resulting in an 85 percent “Very Positive” rating.

Developer Alkimia Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic have expressed their excitement over the game’s early success. They also extended their gratitude to the community, especially long-time fans who have supported the Gothic series over the past 25 years. According to the teams, this milestone is a direct result of that continued passion and support.
Set in the Kingdom of Myrtana, the remake revisits the story of a magical barrier gone wrong, trapping prisoners inside a chaotic mining colony ruled by its most dangerous inmates. As tensions rise between rival factions, the arrival of a mysterious new prisoner sets the stage for a story filled with conflict and change.
The developers have confirmed that this is just the beginning, with ongoing updates and improvements planned in the coming months. And with such a strong debut, Gothic 1 Remake looks set to maintain its momentum as more players step into the Colony.
