Duppy Detective Tashia Brings Its Mystery on Steam Today

A Murder Mystery Awaits in Duppy Detective Tashia

Spritewrench Studios is thrilled to announce that Duppy Detective Tashia has finally arrived on Steam today. This release follows the recent reveal during Fellow Traveller’s Story-Rich Showcase. The game comes from solo developer Glen Henry, the creative force behind the micro studio based in Kingston, Jamaica.

The story follows Tashia, who finds herself chasing down her attacker, only to stumble into the mysterious Halfway Market, a lively space hidden beneath a sprawling cotton tree. What begins as a search for her stolen phone quickly spirals into something far more serious. Tashia soon realizes she is now part of a murder mystery involving Bredda Anansi, and escaping it won’t be simple.

Players step into Tashia’s shoes in this point-and-click adventure rooted in Caribbean folklore. The Halfway Market is full of duppy, mischievous spirits that blur the line between helpful and deceptive. As players explore the market’s stalls across different times of day, they gather clues, uncover motives, and track the movements of seven unique suspects inspired by myth and legend.

The investigation unfolds through careful interrogation and deduction, requiring players to cross-check statements and piece together the truth behind the crime.

Alongside the game’s release, the original soundtrack by Chase Bethea is also available. Described as “Caribbean Noir,” the seven-track score plays a central role in shaping the game’s tone, blending cultural influences with a haunting, narrative-driven sound.

With its distinct setting and storytelling approach, Duppy Detective Tashia offers a mystery that feels both fresh and deeply rooted in folklore. It’s a small project with a strong sense of identity, and one that stands out for its atmosphere and cultural voice. You can purchase it right now for just $7.19 at a 10% launch discount until 14th June.
