Storebound Leaves Early Access on July 16 With Major 1.0 Update

The Full Experience of Storebound Is on Its Way

After eight months of steady, community-driven development, indie studio Embers has confirmed that its co-op puzzle horror game Storebound will officially leave Early Access and launch as Version 1.0 on July 16, 2026.

The full release introduces Episodes 5 and 6, completing the game’s narrative arc with a total of six chapters. Players can experience the story solo or team up with up to two others. Episode 6 is set to deliver the largest and most intense chapter yet, bringing the story to a high-stakes conclusion inside the eerie megastore.

Ahead of launch, Embers is opening playtesting for the final two episodes to all Early Access players. This pre-release phase allows the development team to refine gameplay and story elements using direct feedback from the community, continuing the collaborative approach that has shaped the game so far.

Storebound places players inside a massive, cursed retail complex where escape is anything but simple. Survival depends on teamwork, quick thinking, and the ability to solve unsettling puzzles while avoiding the store’s strange and dangerous “After-Hours Assistance.”

The final chapter follows a corporate scientific team sent to investigate a wave of mysterious disappearances linked to the megastore. As they push deeper into its surreal interior, they uncover secrets no ordinary visitor has seen before, raising one critical question: can anyone truly leave?

With its full release just around the corner, Storebound looks ready to deliver a complete and chilling co-op horror experience. Fans can expect a tense finale when Version 1.0 arrives this July.
