Get Ready to Enter the Bloodgrounds
Exordium Games and Daedalic Entertainment have announced that Bloodgrounds will officially leave Early Access and launch its full 1.0 version on Steam on March 12. Created by the Zagreb-based studio and refined with extensive community feedback, the game combines tactical grid-based combat, squad management, RPG progression, and intense arena battles where every decision carries real consequences.
Throughout development, the team realized that the game was at its best when it fully embraced its unforgiving nature. Players often grow attached to their fighters, which makes victories feel deeply rewarding while every defeat in the arena leaves a lasting impact. The result is a strategy experience where loss becomes part of the story rather than just a setback.
In Bloodgrounds, players take on the role of a former enslaved gladiator who has risen to become a wealthy patron. From this position, they recruit and command teams of gladiators across brutal arenas. Fighters can specialize in physical attacks, ranged combat, or powerful magic, creating a wide range of tactical possibilities during battles.
The stakes remain high in every fight. Gladiators who fall in battle are gone forever, forcing players to constantly adapt their strategies as they pursue vengeance against the tyrannical Emperor responsible for killing their father and destroying their youth.
With its dark fantasy atmosphere and gritty pixel art style, Bloodgrounds offers a challenging experience for fans of tactical games such as XCOM, Darkest Dungeon, Into the Breach, and Battle Brothers.
Alongside the main game, a Supporter Pack will also be available. It includes the original soundtrack, a digital artbook, and several in-game cosmetics such as armor and weapon skins, estate banners, and additional gladiator appearance options.
