Cutout Village Showcases New Trailer as Steam Demo Launches

Try the Demo of Cutout Village During the Next Fest

Spanish indie studio DevilishGames has launched a playable demo for its upcoming paper-themed city builder Cutout Village on Steam, giving players an early hands-on look at its creative mechanics. The team revealed the demo alongside a new trailer during the Six One Indie Showcase, highlighting the game’s distinctive visual style and concept.

Players can access the demo now and continue playing it through Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 15 to June 22. This trial version includes a full story mode level that introduces the core gameplay loop. The game centers on a tactile system inspired by real-world crafts, where players cut, fold, and glue paper pieces to build and expand a small village. The developers also let players download their in-game creations as printable PDF files, allowing them to assemble the buildings in real life.

Cutout Village combines narrative simulation with management elements, placing players in charge of restoring a family home while rebuilding a struggling town. Players actively shape the village by adding services, designing natural spaces, and bringing life back to the community. The developers draw strong inspiration from classic 1960s paper cut-out art, giving the game a warm and nostalgic look.

The full version will include more than 50 unique paper craft designs, an approximately eight-hour story mode, and a free build mode for unrestricted creativity. DevilishGames plans to release the game on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox in the second half of 2026.

With its hands-on mechanics and charming presentation, Cutout Village delivers a fresh and creative take on the city-building genre.
