Add Dragon Loop to Your Shelf

Indie publisher Leoful and developer Happy Player have announced that Dragon Loop will launch physically for the Nintendo Switch on June 11, 2026. The team has also opened pre-orders starting today across key Southeast Asian markets, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

In Dragon Loop, players take control of Xi, a young girl trapped in a mysterious five-day time loop. Time actively reshapes the world around her, changing terrain in subtle but meaningful ways. Players must plan their routes carefully using the Time Map while navigating the shifting environment. Alongside her companion Ouro, Xi fights enemies, explores interconnected regions, and uncovers the truth behind her lost memories.

The game introduces a dynamic spirit system that lets players turn defeated bosses into powerful allies. Players can summon explosive spirits to deal heavy damage or call persistent companions to assist during exploration. They can also upgrade and evolve these spirits to strengthen their abilities.

Players can further expand their toolkit by collecting rare Pearls, which summon versatile abilities. These include unusual tools like spiky pufferfish, magnetic objects, and even a vacuuming whale spirit. Each ability serves multiple purposes, offering flexibility in both combat and traversal.

Combat delivers a fast-paced experience by combining Xi’s strength with Ouro’s agility. Players who perform well can boost their X-Rating, increasing both speed and combat effectiveness. While time remains limited, the game allows players to progress through branching timelines without resetting their progress.

With its evolving world, strategic gameplay, and strong sense of progression, Dragon Loop stands out as a promising new entry in the metroidvania genre. The game is also available digitally on Steam, so make sure to check it out.
