Aim for the Highest Score in Namco Legendary Mountains
BeXide Inc. has officially unveiled NAMCO LEGENDARY Mountains, a new 3D puzzle experience that reimagines some of Namco’s most iconic characters. The announcement arrived alongside a debut trailer, confirming that the game will launch on PC via Steam this summer. Players can already add it to their wishlist ahead of release.
Blending nostalgic charm with a modern twist, the game transforms classic pixel characters into colorful voxel forms. These “Voxels” serve as the core of the gameplay, where players toss capsule-like pieces into a field. When matching voxels collide, they merge into larger forms, gradually building toward higher scores. The challenge lies in managing space, preventing pieces from falling off the field, and keeping the action both simple and engaging.
The title also celebrates Namco’s legacy through themed stages inspired by beloved classics such as PAC-MAN, DIG DUG, XEVIOUS, MAPPY, and THE TOWER OF DRUAGA. Each stage is paired with recognizable music, adding an extra layer of nostalgia while enhancing the overall atmosphere.
Progression plays a key role, with over 100 unique voxels to unlock through various challenges. Players can customize their experience by building their own collections and arranging them in a dedicated “Collection Room,” effectively creating a personalized crossover showcase.
For those seeking competition, an online score attack mode allows players to climb global leaderboards and relive the arcade spirit of chasing high scores.
With its mix of classic inspiration and modern puzzle mechanics, NAMCO LEGENDARY Mountains looks set to deliver a fresh yet familiar experience when it launches later this year.
