Chef Knight Is Ready to Kill and Cook on Steam Next Month

A Culinary Journey Awaits in Chef Knight

Clover Bite, the indie developer behind the well-received Metroidvania series GRIME, has officially revealed the launch date for Chef Knight. This upcoming title will arrive on Steam on June 1, 2026, bringing a unique mix of dungeon crawling and culinary creativity.

Chef Knight

Chef Knight blends a cozy fantasy atmosphere with incremental gameplay mechanics, all wrapped in a charming hand-drawn art style. Players step into dungeons filled with dangerous yet oddly appetizing monsters, engaging in top-down combat while dodging traps and unlocking new abilities. Each encounter feeds directly into the game’s central loop, where defeated enemies become ingredients for an expanding range of dishes.

Back in the kitchen, players transform their hard-earned loot into everything from simple broths to rare delicacies. These meals are then sold to a cast of hungry goblin customers, creating a steady flow of income. Progression ties closely to a detailed skill tree, allowing improvements in combat efficiency, cooking speed, and overall exploration depth, giving each run a sense of steady growth.

The project continues Clover Bite’s approach of supporting student-led development under the Tiltan School of Design and Visual Communication. Chef Knight has already gained early traction online, with coverage from creators like Idle Cub, Nerfed Reflexes, and Sifd.

With its unusual blend of action and cooking, Chef Knight is shaping up to be a standout indie release. Its mix of relaxed progression and dungeon-based gameplay could offer a refreshing experience when it launches this June.
