Precision Platformer TetherGeist Out Now on Steam and Nintendo Switch

Overcome the Obstacles in TetherGeist

Indie developers O. and Co. Games and Out of Space have officially released TetherGeist on Steam and Nintendo Switch, bringing their critically recognized platformer to players worldwide. The title arrives following a strong showing at the gamescom latam BIG Festival, where it earned nominations for Best Game, Best Impact, Best Art Design, and Best Sound, ultimately taking home the WINGS Award.

TetherGeist stands out as a non-combat, precision platformer built around a unique movement system that blends platforming with puzzle-solving elements. Players step into the role of Mae, a young mountain shaman who is unique in her village. While she cannot fully leave her body behind, she instead projects her spirit outward as a ribbon. This mechanic becomes the core of gameplay, allowing players to swing across gaps, navigate tight spaces, and adjust mid-air movement with careful timing.

The game features a narrative-driven world filled with secrets and multiple endings. As players progress, they encounter seven different Azae, each altering how Mae’s astral projection functions. These variations force players to rethink movement strategies, rewarding patience, practice, and a deeper understanding of the mechanics.

“Our goal was to create a platformer where mastery comes from thoroughly learning a single mechanic,” the team said. “The ribbon is the central element. As soon as you have internalized it, you no longer think in terms of abilities, but in terms of movement.”

TetherGeist is also compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the standard version, players on Steam can also purchase Supporter and Deluxe Editions, which include the full soundtrack and a digital artbook.

With its distinctive mechanics and strong artistic direction, TetherGeist positions itself as a thoughtful addition to the precision platforming genre, offering an experience that rewards skill and persistence.
