SEGA Genesis Console Is Packed With Nostalgia
The LEGO Group has officially teamed up with SEGA to unveil a brand-new collectible set that celebrates one of gaming’s most iconic consoles. The newly revealed LEGO SEGA Genesis Console (40926) brings a detailed brick-built tribute to the legendary Sega Genesis, known as the Sega Mega Drive outside North America.

Designed with both nostalgia and creativity in mind, the set allows builders to recreate either version of the classic console. It features interchangeable elements, detachable controllers, and decorative stickers that reflect the original hardware’s look and feel. The result is a display piece that blends retro gaming charm with LEGO’s signature building experience.
“Like many others from my generation, I still vividly remember when the SEGA Mega Drive launched – it felt completely out of this world,” said Patrik, Designer at the LEGO Group. “27 years later the love for the console is still going strong – I still play mine! Recreating the intricate details and curves of the console with LEGO elements was an enjoyable challenge, despite it’s difficulty.”
“We feel that this is a building experience that captures both SEGA’s heritage of gaming and the playful creativity of LEGO play,” said Alex Gomez, VP, Licensing & Partnerships of SEGA of America, Inc. “The SEGA Genesis holds a special place in the hearts of gamers and represents a defining era in video game history. With this new LEGO set, fans are not only able to relive those nostalgic memories, but also actively engage with SEGA’s legacy through hands-on creativity.”
The LEGO SEGA Genesis Console (40926) will launch on June 1, 2026. It will be available through LEGO stores and online for £34.99/€39.99/ $39.99. This release stands as a fitting tribute to a console that shaped a generation, now reimagined as a collectible for fans and builders alike.
