More Balls and Characters Awaits in BALL x PIT
BALL x PIT continues to expand its chaotic, brick-breaking formula with a fresh wave of content, as the newly released Shadow Update rolls out across all platforms. Published by Devolver Digital in collaboration with Kenny Sun and Friends, this free update is available now for all existing players, adding a generous mix of gameplay enhancements and new features.
At the heart of the update are 11 brand-new balls that significantly shake up combat. These additions introduce creative mechanics such as time manipulation, freezing enemies mid-action, and unpredictable teleportation, offering players more strategic ways to approach each run. The update also brings two new playable characters into the mix. The Tiptoer, a stealth-focused ninja, excels at staying undetected even at close range, while the Tunneller changes the rules entirely by allowing balls to wrap around the screen, re-entering from the opposite side.
Beyond characters and weapons, the Shadow Update expands progression and customization. Four new passive abilities add more variety, including effects that scale damage dynamically based on battlefield chaos or counter incoming attacks with bursts of smaller projectiles. Players can also construct a new base building, the Guildhall, which introduces the ability to re-roll previously selected upgrades, adding another layer of flexibility to each playthrough.
Now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices, the Shadow Update delivers a substantial content drop that keeps the experience feeling fresh.
