Forest of Deceit Backstabs Onto Steam in Early Q3 2026.

Survive the Storm in Forest of Deceit

Ghost Camp has teamed up with developer Thomas Mackinnon to reveal Forest of Deceit, a new social deduction party game set to launch on Steam in early Q3 2026. Inspired by the accessible, party-friendly style of Jackbox titles, the game blends survival mechanics with deception, creating a tense and unpredictable multiplayer experience.

Set in a mysterious and cursed forest, Forest of Deceit places players in a desperate race against time. A deadly storm is approaching, and the only way to survive is by gathering enough resources to build a shelter within a few in-game days. However, things are far from straightforward. Some players are secretly turned into Traitors, driven mad by the forest. And, their goal is to sabotage the group’s efforts while remaining undetected.

Designed for 4 to 8 players, the game supports both local and online multiplayer. Each participant uses a personal device such as a phone, tablet, or computer to receive private information. This adds another layer of strategy and secrecy. Every day, players venture out to collect resources, followed by group discussions where suspicions grow, and alliances begin to crack. As the days pass, players can vote out those they believe are Traitors.

Victory depends on teamwork or deception. Innocent players must complete the shelter in time, while Traitors win if they successfully delay progress or eliminate trust within the group.

With its mix of survival tension and social mind games, Forest of Deceit is shaping up to be a compelling addition to the party game genre. You can wishlist the game on Steam right now to be among the first to survive the storm or betray your friends.
