Take Down the Bosses in FAR FROM DEAD
Indie developer Brian O’Keefe has officially released FAR FROM DEAD on Steam, bringing its fast-paced run ’n gun boss rush action to PC and Mac players. The game is priced at $7.99, with a limited-time 10% launch discount available during its first week. For those who want to try before buying, a free demo remains live, offering access to the opening act while allowing progress to carry over into the full version.
FAR FROM DEAD follows a mysterious young man determined to escape a decaying planet and reach the freedom of deep space. Armed with only a handgun, players must push through dangerous environments, including mountains, forests, and hidden facilities. The journey is anything but simple, as supernatural, extraterrestrial, and human threats stand in the way.
The game focuses entirely on boss encounters, featuring seven intense battles that test skill and patience. Each boss comes with distinct mechanics, multiple phases, and evolving attack patterns. Players wield a versatile moveset, including a dash with brief invincibility frames, wall jumping for evasive maneuvers, and a rapid-fire weapon to keep up the pressure.
Inspired by classic 2D run ’n gun and shoot ’em up titles, the gameplay emphasizes learning enemy patterns through repeated attempts. While the experience challenges players by design, an Assist Mode lets them adjust difficulty settings for a more relaxed playthrough. A standard run without assistance typically takes around two to four hours to complete.
With its focused design and challenging boss fights, FAR FROM DEAD offers a compact yet engaging experience for fans of skill-based action games.
