Save Your Husband in SoulQuest
Indie developer SoulBlade Studio, in partnership with publisher indie.io, has confirmed that SoulQuest will launch on Steam on May 1, 2026. The side-scrolling hack-and-slash title blends fast-paced action with a story rooted in grief, defiance, and mythological conflict.
The game follows Alys, a Celtic warrior who refuses to accept the gods’ decision after the death of her husband. Instead of surrendering to fate, she sets out on a dangerous journey to reclaim his soul. Alongside her is the druid Abanus, and together they challenge the will of the Celtic pantheon, including Morrigan, the goddess of death.
SoulQuest draws heavily from Celtic folklore and Arthurian legend, presenting a stylized world inspired by the British Isles. Its retro visual design is paired with a medieval-themed soundtrack, creating a distinct atmosphere that supports both exploration and combat.
Gameplay centers around a fluid, combo-driven combat system. Players can chain light and heavy attacks into seamless sequences, while also incorporating magic abilities and powerful ultimates. The system is easy to grasp but offers depth for those who want to refine their approach. Combat encounters feature relentless enemy waves, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations to maintain momentum and control.
Performance is rewarded through a ranking system that grades players from F to SSS, recognizing precision, creativity, and efficiency in battle. With responsive controls and detailed animations, the game emphasizes both style and skill.
