Get Ready to Enter Gildenarch in Crimson Moon
ProbablyMonsters has officially announced Crimson Moon, a Gothic High Renaissance action-adventure RPG built around intense, replayable missions and deep character progression. The reveal came during PlayStation’s State of Play showcase, where the studio offered a first look at its dark fantasy world. The game will release in 2026 on PC, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It carries an M for Mature rating.
Set in the fallen city of Gildenarch, Crimson Moon casts players as a half-human, half-angel Nephilim sworn to defend humanity as a Knight of the Crimson Moon. Tasked with reclaiming the city from the Infernal Legion, players will battle district by district. All while uncovering the truth behind Gildenarch’s collapse and confronting a destiny that rests solely on their shoulders.
Combat sits at the heart of the experience. ProbablyMonsters promises a fast-paced system that rewards precision and timing, blending brutal melee strikes with explosive celestial transformations. Players can manipulate divine abilities to control the battlefield. There is also an optional cooperative play that allows two players to team up and unleash devastating synergies. Each mission encourages experimentation with new powers and builds, reinforcing the game’s focus on mastery and replayability.
Beyond combat, players will explore towering cathedrals, fortified battlements, and shadowed streets teeming with demons, vampires, and undead gods. Dynamic level design and evolving enemy encounters aim to ensure that no two runs play out the same. Between assaults, players will regroup at the War Table hub to upgrade abilities, craft gear, and prepare for the next push to reclaim Gildenarch. This makes sure that every venture forward becomes more interesting. So, do you think you have what it takes to reclaim the fallen city? Find out for yourself when the game arrives later this year.
