Defeat the Harvesters in Storm Lancers
ProbablyMonsters surprised everyone today during Nintendo Direct by announcing that Storm Lancers is now available on Nintendo Switch. Combining retro 1980s-inspired visuals with intense, fast-paced combat, the game introduces a fresh twist to the rogue-like genre with its native couch co-op feature, allowing players to team up and tackle challenges together.
In Storm Lancers, players crash land on Cryptica, a living planet infused with a powerful source of reality magic. Initially believing they are facing their demise, they are mysteriously brought back to life and tasked with saving the planet. They must do so by journeying to its fractured core and repairing the fabric of reality itself. Players will face the Harvesters, an alien machine race that drains life, energy, and magic, requiring mastery of nimble evasions, powerful combat techniques, and strategic augmentations to survive.
“Storm Lancers was a fun and exciting challenge for us as the team built something truly distinctive in the rogue-like genre — native couch co-op in the game’s DNA,” said ProbablyMonsters General Manager and Game Lead for Storm Lancers Jim Veevaert. “With colorful visuals and an easy-to-understand and challenging-to-master gameplay system, we can’t wait for players to step into the world of Cryptica together.”
The game pushes players to keep their reflexes sharp as they explore five ever-shifting biomes. Each move they make will propel them further into Cryptica’s vibrant alien world and toward even tougher enemies. The Storm Bindings system allows players to customize their playstyle, balancing enhancements and trade-offs, unlocking perks, synergies, and new abilities. With over a dozen weapon types and evolving mechanics, players can craft unique builds that transform them into legends.
Storm Lancers carries an ESRB rating of E10+ and is available for $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.
