HELLCARD II Is Launching Later This Year
Skystone Games and Thing Trunk have officially unveiled HELLCARD II, the sequel to their critically acclaimed co-op deckbuilding roguelite. Building on the fast, tactical card combat that defined the original, the game pushes the experience further by embracing deeper RPG systems and a strong narrative focus. Set to launch on PC and consoles later in 2026, the sequel aims to turn every run into a lasting story that shapes future playthroughs.
While HELLCARD II preserves the intense, cooperative card-battling fans expect, it reimagines the structure of the adventure. Instead of progressing through traditional dungeon rooms, players now journey through the pages of a living pop-up storybook. Each decision alters the path forward, encouraging teams to debate their choices, pursue side quests, and uncover the truth behind an escalating dragon threat. Every run becomes part of a larger narrative, with consequences that echo beyond a single attempt.

Thing Trunk emphasizes that the sequel expands on what made the original special. Tactical positioning and emergent strategies remain central, but HELLCARD II leans harder into the tabletop-inspired fantasy of dungeon crawling. Players can further customize their characters, shape their own stories, and collaborate not just in combat, but in storytelling itself.
According to Thing Trunk’s Konstanty Kalicki, the goal is to capture the feeling of a pen-and-paper campaign brought to life. HELLCARD II invites players to write their own shared adventures, blending strategy, role-playing, and narrative choice into a co-op experience designed to evolve with every playthrough.
