Red Rite Studio has revealed that Red Season will receive a playable demo on Steam in Q1 this year. Designed as a modern homage to classic third-person shooter and stealth-action titles such as Manhunt, The Last of Us, Kane & Lynch 2, Resident Evil 4, and Dead Space, the game blends familiar mechanics with a grim, original narrative. Drawing inspiration from films and series like The Road, Edge of Darkness, and True Detective Season 1, Red Season promises to deliver a grounded yet harrowing experience rooted in violence, loss, and obsession.
Set in the storm-lashed countryside of 1998, Red Season follows the story of a father. He is driven to extremes after a sadistic folk-horror cult kidnaps his daughter. What begins as a desperate search quickly transforms into a relentless hunt. He will travel through muddy fields, abandoned barns, decaying towns, and blood-soaked ritual sites. Players rely on brutal stealth tactics, savage melee combat, and tense gunfights to survive encounters that constantly test their resolve.
At its core, Red Season explores the psychological toll of vengeance. Every clue uncovered alters the protagonist’s mental state, forcing players to confront the cost of their actions.
