Step Into the Beautiful World of Arie: Moonprayer
PhantomWorks has released a free demo for its anime-style 3D adventure game ARIE: Moonprayer on Steam today. Alongside the demo launch, the development team has also shared deeper insights into the game’s worldbuilding and character narratives.
ARIE: Moonprayer is a short, story-driven adventure set in a quiet yet striking apocalyptic world. With the moon slowly falling and the end of the world approaching, players journey across the final remaining island, experiencing a landscape shaped by loss and lingering beauty. Through the performance of Moonsongs that resonate with those who have passed on, players uncover fragments of memory, history, and emotion scattered throughout the land.
Drawing inspiration from role-playing games renowned for their rich lore and expansive 3D environments, as well as non-combat-focused adventure titles, the game prioritizes atmosphere and emotional storytelling over action. The protagonist’s mystical instrument, the Diqin, plays a central role, allowing players to interact with the environment. All while creating a layered auditory experience that supports the game’s sorrowful yet serene tone.
The demo, which covers Chapter 1, introduces players to the Malus Escarpment and parts of Puppis Firth on Cerul Island. Players can explore ruined landscapes, learn about the world and the protagonists through relics, murals, and scripted events, and begin restoring sections of Luner Village. The demo also features basic ruin puzzles and four playable Moonsongs spread across two regions, each changing between day and night.
In the full release, ARIE: Moonprayer will expand with additional areas of Cerul Island. There will be more side stories, advanced puzzle mechanics, new Moonsongs, and the complete restoration of Luner Village. Progress from the demo will carry over to the full game. Players can also join the official Discord server to share their feedback.
