Master of Chaos Goes Mayhem With the Release of Steam Demo

Get Ready to Become the Master of Chaos

The demo for Master of Chaos, a solo-developed action roguelite from Perfect Execution Games, is now live on Steam, giving players an early taste of its fast-paced and experimental gameplay.

At its core, the game focuses on aggressive, skill-driven combat. Players control a small but fearless wizard capable of countering melee attacks, deflecting incoming projectiles, and turning enemy pressure into opportunity. Chaining counters builds a “Combometer,” temporarily boosting damage, fire rate, and movement speed. However, losing momentum resets the chain, pushing players to stay sharp in the middle of overwhelming enemy hordes. Both close-range and long-range combat styles are viable, depending on how players shape their build.

Unlike typical survival roguelites, runs in Master of Chaos are objective-driven. Players gather crafting materials, complete miniquests, defeat minibosses, and use a hookshot mechanic to reach upgrades scattered across the map. Constant movement is essential to stay ahead of the ever-growing enemy swarm.

The demo also highlights the game’s deep customization system. Projectile patterns such as orbital, boomerang, and zigzag can be stacked in different orders, drastically changing how attacks behave. Combined with upgrades, these systems allow for highly unpredictable and creative builds.

A unique “Game Break” system acts as an alternate win condition, rewarding players for pushing their builds to extreme limits, even to the point of breaking the game’s performance.

With over 140 upgrades, a stylized cartoon presentation, and community-inspired content, Master of Chaos already shows strong potential. The demo offers a chaotic yet refined glimpse into what could become a standout entry in the roguelite genre.
