Try the Demo of AKIBA LOST Right Now
IzanagiGames has officially begun the next phase for its upcoming live-action title AKIBA LOST with the release of the Steam demo today. The demo offers players an early look at the full experience, including a portion of the story and a preview of the game’s multi-perspective narrative style.
Set in the heart of Akihabara, the demo lets players step into a suspense-driven story where choices matter. It introduces the game’s core “zapping” system, allowing players to switch between multiple characters. Each character offers a different angle on the unfolding mystery. Players can explore the story up to the morning of Day 1 in the game’s seven-day timeline. Furthermore, the progress in the demo will carry over to the full release.
The demo also features part of the theme song “BUGlitch,” performed by Hiromitsu Kitayama, giving players a taste of the game’s atmosphere and tone.

AKIBA LOST follows game creator Daiki Shinjo as he attempts to uncover the truth behind a long-unsolved disappearance case tied to his past. Alongside him is a diverse cast of characters representing Akihabara’s vibrant subculture, including a maid café manager, a game streamer, an underground idol, and more. Each character adds depth to the story, creating a layered narrative experience.
The game is a collaboration between IzanagiGames, Nippon Television, and AX-ON, blending cinematic storytelling with interactive gameplay. It also earned recognition as a Future Division winner at the Japan Game Awards 2025.
With its demo now live, AKIBA LOST is shaping up to be a unique blend of drama and interactivity. The early glimpse suggests a strong focus on storytelling, making it one to watch ahead of its full release on September 17. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
