Ghost Vanguard Got Fully Funded on Kickstarter Campaign

A Huge Milestone for Ghost Vanguard

Wombo Combo Games, a two-person indie studio based in Fukuoka, Japan, has successfully reached its $20,000 Kickstarter goal to complete development of Ghost Vanguard, a roguelike beat ’em up filled with dark fantasy and fast-paced combat. With the campaign surpassing its initial target, the team will use additional funds to expand the game’s content and features.

The stretch goals will add new boss encounters, reveal the true masterminds behind the nightmare forged dungeons. It will also introduce a Turbo Mode that adjusts combat speed, bring console ports to PlayStation, and introduce a new playable character inspired by the Thief archetype. The developers plan to announce more stretch goals as backers continue to support the project.

The team also gives supporters creative ways to shape Ghost Vanguard. Backers can design custom NPCs or mini bosses, craft spells, relics, and statues, or leave personalized messages throughout the game world, creating an interactive experience reminiscent of Bloodborne’s environments.

Players can try Ghost Vanguard now through a demo on Steam. The demo provides two to three hours of gameplay with two unique bosses. Players wield a one-handed sword with three distinct combat styles, experiment with ten upgradeable spells and a variety of relics, and develop specialized playstyles such as Frost Mage or Aerial Combo builds. They can also unlock advanced techniques at the Hub, including parrying, air dashing, and double jumping, allowing them to push their skills and experience the game’s depth as it approaches full release.
