Fablelight Is Kicking off Its Kickstarter Campaign on 29 September 2026

Show Some Love and Support for Fablelight

Fablelight is ready to step into the ring, with its Kickstarter campaign officially launching on September 29, 2026. Developed by indie creator Super8BitRafa, this unusual fighting game RPG is putting its biggest focus on single-player action, blending arcade-style combat with branching choices, exploration, and RPG progression.

Instead of simply throwing players into a series of fights, Fablelight builds an entire fairytale adventure around its battles. Players will explore a strange fantasy world, recruit fighters, unlock new abilities and equipment, and make choices that can send the story down different paths. Even the environment gets involved, with battles allowing players to break through walls and uncover new areas.

And losing isn’t something players can simply brush off. Fablelight features permadeath, meaning characters can be lost permanently after taking a particularly brutal defeat.

The roster is just as bizarre. Players can take control of grappler werewolves, charge-based robots, zoning witches, and even rush-down hive mind caveman barbarians. All of them fight across a hand-drawn world inspired by 90s cartoons and classic arcade games.

The game also packs motion-input 2D combat, party-based progression, unlockable abilities, secret routes, and SNK-inspired bosses. Fablelight has already appeared at fighting-game events, where players have tested its mechanics and helped shape the experience through feedback.

With its Kickstarter just around the corner, Fablelight is shaping up to be a fighting game with a very different game plan. If you want to try oout something that’s new to the genre, then this one might be worth keeping an eye on.
