Catch the Void has unveiled The Whisker Watch, a co-op roguelike that blends feline charm with supernatural adventure inside a cozy, ever-changing mansion. Players take on the role of two cats tasked with protecting their human from the mysterious Chthonic forces. These sinister spirits are invisible to humans, leaving it to the cats to fight them off at night. During the day, the feline guardians rest, recover, and expand the mansion, gradually reducing the chaos that plagues it. Each run reshuffles rooms, traps, and hidden secrets, offering a fresh experience every time while letting players improve and decorate the house between adventures.
Designed primarily for co-op play, both online and local, the game is fully playable solo. Mischief becomes both a tool and a delight, with cats able to deploy strategic vomit, tactical gifts, and well-timed hairballs. These actions not only serve as weapons against the night’s threats but also bring joy to their human during the day. Players can coordinate with partners in inventive ways, such as combining into a catball to roll through enemies or using complementary junkits, where one cat creates a shield barrier while the other charges it with electricity.
Customization is a key feature, letting players outfit their cats with a variety of skins and accessories. Beyond combat, the game encourages interaction with NPCs and immersion in a warm, engaging story. Players can uncover the mansion’s secrets or simply enjoy the whimsical antics of their cats.
