Astroneer Expands With Megatech DLC and Free Update This November

Build Megastructures in Astroneer

Devolver Digital and System Era Softworks have announced the next big step for their space exploration sandbox. Following the success of last year’s Glitchwalkers expansion, the studios are preparing to launch Megatech DLC for Astroneer. It is a new paid DLC arriving this November across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Megatech expansion introduces players to massive Megastructures, ambitious projects designed to push Basebuilding and Automation to new heights. These colossal builds each come with their own identity, challenges, and rewards, offering fresh ways to experiment with existing tools while unlocking powerful new technology. Whether designing sprawling hubs or intricate automated systems, players will have the chance to see just how far their creativity can go.

Importantly, the DLC is fully compatible with existing saves, meaning that ongoing progress can seamlessly carry over into the new content. Players can continue from their established colonies or start from scratch, immediately diving into the possibilities that Megastructures bring.

Alongside the paid expansion, System Era Softworks is also preparing a free update that rolls out on the same day. This update will add new items and, for the first time, the ability to construct a single Megastructure type without purchasing the DLC. This free option introduces automated interplanetary transportation, giving players the power to move resources and technology across planets, a major addition that expands logistics and exploration for everyone.

With Megatech, the universe of Astroneer grows bigger than ever, offering both newcomers and long-time explorers new ways to build, automate, and connect their galactic frontiers.
