Get Your Hands On God Save Birmingham
After receiving millions of views on its trailer, God Save Birmingham is heading to Gamescom for its first-ever public demo. Visitors can experience a hands-on pre-alpha build in the consumer section of the event, where they will face down the undead with nothing but a pitchfork, an axe, and the will to survive.
Developed by Ocean Drive Studio and published by Kakao Games, God Save Birmingham throws players into the chaos of a zombie apocalypse set not in modern times, but in 14th-century Birmingham. Inspired by Project Zomboid, the game blends sandbox survival with a richly detailed medieval setting. Check out the official reveal trailer below to get a sneak peek of the zombie apocalypse everyone’s about to face.
God Save Birmingham takes place against the backdrop of a strange plague that has turned the countryside into a nightmare. Players must scavenge for food and supplies, craft tools and weapons, and outwit relentless hordes of zombies. The game’s physics-driven systems allow creative solutions. Barricade doors with stacked furniture, leap fences to slow enemies, or hack off limbs to gain precious seconds.
The Early Access version will offer a portion of the town to explore in sandbox mode. Players can scavenge through historic locations like the Markets, the Burgage Plots, or the Church of St. Martin in the Bull Ring. A full campaign mode is planned for a later release, alongside the complete town.
Kakao Games promises more announcements at Gamescom and beyond, but for now, survival begins with the clang of steel and the groan of the undead in the heart of bubonic Birmingham.
