A New World of Critics and Discovery
The gaming world is massive. Thousands of games come out each year. Obviously, this makes it hard to keep up with every single release. As a consequence, many gamers may lose some gems that slip through the cracks, especially if their favorite outlets don’t cover them. Luckily, a new solution is on the horizon. Today, CriticDB, a videogame review aggregation platform, takes its first steps into the world of gaming. A new platform built by gaming industry veterans, the platform focusses not only on putting reviews and scores in front of gamers, but allowing them to discover new games.Â
Unlike other review sites, CriticDB is a hub of discovery. The goal of the platform is to allow gamers to discover new writers, outlets, and of course, games. Importantly, the platform includes multiple facets of its design that will allow it to focus on discovery. For instance, visitors to the platform will be able to view the game of the day. This feature will showcase smaller, indie, games that players may want to learn more about. Additionally, gamers can discover lists of games similar to ones they personally find interesting. This list will be curated by real people, with zero AI involved. Furthermore, gamers can use outlet tags to discover the types of outlets that are important to them. From women-led, to minority-owned, and anything else gamers could want.Â
Starting with over 75 outlets, CriticDB is committed to adding more and more to their roster. Of course, more outlets will allow more discovery. Additionally, the platform will be working directly with game PR to ensure completely accurate information. A video provides more information below.Â
CriticDB is fully launching January 30th, 2025. For more information, check them out here and here.Â
