If you thought that 2019 gaming was over, you were wrong. In a stunning move, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan has been released on Nintendo Switch. Five games deep into the series and the first one pops up once again.
Nobody knew that Supermassive Games was working on a Nintendo Switch port of 5 year old game. It has the multiplayer features of the original release. The Switch version supports up to 5 players locally and up to 2 players online.
Something that eShop notes on the game’s page is interesting. The Nintendo Switch version of Man of Medan only runs at 24 FPS. With all the gaming discourse around performance, you would think this would not be the case. Perhaps this is why it was never announced or teased.
Do you think the frame rate will be a reason for Nintendo Switch owners to pass on this game? There are currently no other games in this format from Supermassive Games on Nintendo Switch.

Interestingly enough, 24 FPS is considered the “cinematic” frame rate for film and television. Considering that recent Supermassive Games games play like interactive films, this is kind of fitting. If this port is successful enough, perhaps more games from the series and developer will come to Nintendo Switch.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and now Nintendo Switch.
