Let’s a-Go
Sony is seemingly doing all it can to slow down or stop Microsoft’s acquisition of Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard. Competition boards around the globe are looking at this deal as well. However, Microsoft has made some positive steps regarding their purchase on other fronts.
Earlier today, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, Brad Smith announced a deal. Microsoft and Nintendo have reached a deal that will bring the Call of Duty franchise back to Nintendo platforms.
It is hard to imagine now, but there were a fair amount of CoD games that launched on Nintendo consoles alongside Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Between 2007 and 2013, 7 games from the franchise were on Nintendo Wii and WiiU. These titles include everything from Call of Duty 3 to Ghosts, skipping only Modern Warfare 2.
We’ve now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo’s gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms. pic.twitter.com/JmO0hzw1BO

While the announcements do not include any specific titles, there are interesting details. According to the joint statement between Nintendo and Microsoft, Nintendo players will enjoy same-date releases with Xbox, as well as “full feature and content parity”.
Even though Nintendo consoles often pale in comparison to specs of Xbox and PlayStation, there will be nothing spared from Nintendo’s versions. This deal is also going to last for the next ten years.
