Today Heart Shaped Games is happy to announce the release of their grand strategy, genre bending, game, We Are The Caretakers. Out now on Xbox and Steam, the game aims to combine genres to provide players with a new kind of strategy experience. A press release provides more details about the game. We Are The Caretakers introduces players to an Earth following contact with an alien civilization. Players take on the role of a secretive faction in a grimdark narrative full of choices, strategy, and challenges. The game combines RTS, roster management, and turn-based combat. Of course, players will be able to recruit characters from over 30 different classes, using them to build squads of Caretakers. Players will then send them out on missions to explore, recapture towns, while also protecting the beloved creatures known as Raun. Importantly, players will also need to make choices about their Caretaker community, and the best choice may not always be the most popular one.Â
