Knuckles is the Star of Sonic Frontiers’ New Short Film
Sega is bringing the hype train for Sonic Frontiers into high gear. On top of the other marketing reveals they’ve done, today’s release brings us a 6-minuite-long animated short film, featuring Knuckles as the main character. Those who preferred his persona from the classic games and comics will find a lot to love, he’s not a punchline anymore. He gets a full action scene, all to himself. Oh, and there’s plenty of Chao too.

The film hints at major backstory clues for Sonic Frontiers, but I’ll leave those for you to find yourself. I’m sure a dedicated Sonic can will have a better eye for this stuff than me. And considering the overwhelming sense of mystery the film tries to evoke, leaving this unstated is probably for the better.
Overall, fans are extremely excited to see this new direction for the Sonic franchise and Sonic Frontiers. Ian Flynn, a major and well-known writer for the Sonic comics, has been given a lot of influence on this project, and fans can’t wait to see what he’s come up with.
