The Utopian Dream Is Not What It Seems
The first-person shooter Atomic Heart has been in development for the past few years. It’s been a while since we have heard any news from the game, but look who showed up to blow our minds at Gamescom.
The developer Mundfish dropped a hot gameplay trailer and boy howdy, there is a lot to process in this video. Breaking it down, there are a lot of cool elements that Atomic Heart borrows from other first-person games and mashes them into something chaotic.
On one hand (literally), players can use a number of different elemental attacks and then shoot them up with the weapon in their other hand. The combat is reminiscent of BioShock with WWII-era weapons, like Wolfenstein. There is also a post-apocalyptic environment, like in Fallout. Atomic Heart has some big, robotic bosses to fight. Be prepared as well for smaller robotic enemies, mutants, and other creatures in between.
The game takes place in an alternate timeline in 1955. The Soviet Union made exceptional robotic advancements that won the war against Germany. What followed was a Skynet-type rebellion of the robots in the decade following World War II.
Our latest explosive Combat Trailer is now out! Atomic Heart will release on Console & PC late 2022 ; wishlist now on Steam : https://t.co/8nBmweD1yr
