Leaker Claims New Mario Kart Will Feature Many Characters
We are getting very close to the fifth anniversary of Nintendo releasing the Switch. However, even after almost five years, the massively popular gaming console is still missing a new release of one of Nintendo’s most popular titles: Mario Kart.
While you can buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch today, it is essentially a re-release of the Wii U game. Therefore, Karters around the world have long been agonizing for a new true Switch version.
According to a leaker, we may just be one step closer to the next entry into the popular racing franchise. And if what he says comes true, we are in for a treat this year.
LeakyPandy claims that we will see a brand new Mario Kart title sometime this year. Yet, the most exciting part about the game may be hinted at in the possible title. Mario Kart Crossroads.
This new game may feature different characters from several different franchises, not just those in the Super Mario universe. The last game was the first in the series to open it up to other franchises.
In Mario Kart 8, players could play as Isabella from Animal Crossing of Link from the Legend of Zelda. However, this next game reportedly may bring more drivers to the series.
In addition, LeakyPanda mentions some other intriguing titles for 2022. This includes a new Xenoblade side game, a new Pikmin game and the long-awaited Pokkén Tournament 2.
Nintendo fans will want to pay close attention to what promises to be another exciting year for the Switch. There will likely be a Nintendo Direct sometime this quarter which may confirm some of these rumours.
