Work Together and Strike From the Shadows
The original Hitman Sniper was called one of the best mobile games out there on release, so it’s long overdue for a sequel. Fortunately, Square Enix Montréal has our backs. They announced today that they’re hard at work on a new Hitman title for mobile, currently dubbed Hitman Sniper Assassins. This game will include an original story, new playable assassins, and a ton of new gameplay features. Better yet, it’s currently marketing its hits as a team effort, which means that multiplayer is on the table. We can’t wait to see how that plays out. The original Hitman Sniper raised the bar for mobile games in general, let alone future Hitman mobile games, so we have high expectations for Assassins. Fortunately, the devs are aware of this, and they’ll be working hard to make sure this new title lives up to its legacy. New characters, new storyline, new game mechanics, and–of course–lots and lots of new people to kill. Dominic Allaire, executive producer at Square Enix Montréal, stated that: “Project Hitman Sniper Assassins will be an evolutionary leap forward for the genre, and we can’t wait for players to share our excitement when they get their hands on it in the coming months.”
We can’t wait, either. Especially since Fahad Khan, lead game designer, has gone on the record as saying that, “2021 will be one of the best years to be a fan of the Hitman franchise.”
Hitman 3 came out earlier this year and was very warmly received, so the franchise is already riding high. We can expect more content and add-ons for Hitman 3 in the future, so that will definitely help make this year great.
