Sharing aspects of previous Marvel games as well as mechanics seen in common multiplayer looters like Destiny, Avengers has presented us with plenty to keep an optimistic eye on. We got an opportunity to go hands-on with the Avengers beta only a month before the game’s release date and we definitely have some crucial and critical thoughts on how the experience is shaping up. Check out our video below to hear more of our thoughts on the next game in the Marvel universe.
Marvel’s Avengers is the latest game to hit from the iconic Marvel studios. Players will take on the role of legendary Avengers as they work together in typical hero fashion to protect the world from evil. During the early portion of the game, a mission goes tragically wrong and the world is outraged at Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Disheartened and disbanded, the Avengers go their separate ways until a young hero, Kamala Khan, endeavors to bring the team back together for the next global threat.
The game features online co-op multiplayer as well as the option to play the entire game single player. Heroes are customizable with a slew of upgrades, gear, and unlockable costumes to make them truly your own, as well as offering different gameplay styles based on their respective abilities. It has already been announced that Hawkeye will be added post-launch to the game and that PlayStation 4 users will get exclusive access to Spider-Man, with the potential for many other heroes to be added as the game progresses. The Avengers will feature its own campaign story as well as a number of optional features such as raids and the HARM room for training to practice newly unlocked abilities and features.
Marvel’s Avengers is set for launch on September 4 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. For more information, check out the game’s official website.
