37 Songs Added to the Soundtrack for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2

The Remaster is Getting Some Fresh Blood

Tony Hawk Pro Skater fans had a lot to be excited for when the remaster of the first two games was announced back in May. Releasing on September 4th, the remaster brings back all the levels and skaters available in the first two games, plus some upgrades to Skater and Map Creation that’ll ensure that your stunts will be sicker than ever before.

However, like gameplay, music has evolved since the first game was released and, while many of the artists from the original soundtracks for both games are still popular, or at least considered classic in their own right, there are also bands that are more underground, and so the new soundtrack is breathing some new life into the soundtrack by introducing some new artists, both established and up and coming. There are thirty-seven new artists joining the roster so, regardless of your music tastes, there’s a lot to be excited for.

There’s a lot to be said about music being featured in video games. While The Caesar’s are considered a one-hit-wonder, any SSX3 fan probably knows the lyrics to Jerk it Out off by heart, so being included in such an anticipated game is bound to give a career boost to any of the relatively unknown bands in the roster, such as Pkew Pkew Pkew or Chick Norris. It’ll also bring some of the more established bands in the list, like The Ataris, Reel Big Fish, or A Tribe Called Quest to a new audience.

The full line-up, including the bands returning from the original games, was revealed with a virtual concert hosted on Noisey’s YouTube channel and features performances by Machine Gun Kelly, Rough Francis, Chaii, and Merkules, as well as a recording of Goldfinger’s song Superman.

Sadly, several of the songs from the original soundtrack, such as Unsane’s Committed or Alley Life’s Out With The Old didn’t make the cut, but with so many new songs added to the list, it’s hard to imagine too many people being upset by their omission.
