Full Release This November
If you’ve been playing this demo on Steam and Gog already, this is hardly news. Console gamers should perk up their ears, however. Cris Tales, the RPG that looks like a cut scene in action, is getting a demo for the Switch, Xbox One, and the PS4 today. I genuinely couldn’t tell where the gameplay began when I watched the trailer below.
The devs list games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Valkyrie Profile, Bravely Default, and Persona 5 as their influences. There’s also time travel involved, but in a localized, “banish your enemies to a different era” kind of time travel. They can’t attack you if they’re several years ago, you see. You sold me already with that Chrono Trigger talk, by the way. No need to get too fancy here.
Modus is looking to get the game on next-gen consoles as well, though there is no concrete date for that just yet. Players will have to settle for the PS4, Xbox One, the PC, and the Nintendo Switch. You can check out a short trailer below, or a slightly longer video (with gameplay!) here. If you want even more information than that, we’ve got a preview for the game here. Cris Tales is launching for PC and consoles on November 17th, 2020.
