Sounds Like You Won’t Be Forced To Buy a Next Gen Copy of Cyberpunk 2077
The PS4 & Xbox One versions of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming open world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on PS5 & Xbox Series X, the studio announced Friday. The studio also revealed that the game will eventually receive a free upgrade for next gen consoles that will take “full advantage” of their power.
We are happy to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be backwards compatible with both next-gen consoles! Your PS4 copy of the game will work on PS5 on launch day. Anyone who buys the game on Xbox One will be able to play their copy on Xbox Series X when the console launches too!

This news was revealed the day after CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077’s release would be getting delayed for the second time because the studio needs more time to fix bugs. The highly anticipated RPG has been pushed back from September 17th to November 19th.
