Sony is Trying to Extend an Olive BranchÂ
As most people know by now, The Last of Us 2 has been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus. Like almost every other business around the world, the pandemic has created a ton of unforeseen logistical issues that were not present even a month ago. Originally scheduled to drop in May of this year, the sudden pushback has made a lot of fans understandably upset by this news. The amount of hype and excitement that surrounded this particular title was enormous. However, on the bright side, if you did already pre-order a digital copy of The Last of Us 2 then you are now eligible for a refund from Sony.
Anyone who has already gone through the process of pre-ordering a copy of the game will receive an email sooner or later that will tell them that they are able to get a full refund on their purchase. There is no exact time table for when these emails are going to be sent out. But they are coming. Just to play it safe, if you do not get an email within the next couple of weeks then you should personally contact Sony and let them know about your situation.
Having The Last of Us 2 delayed is obviously very disappointing but at least you will be getting your money back. Games are an expensive hobby to get into. Not to mention that thanks to the financial situation we find ourselves in now, perhaps the money could be repurposed for something else.
While The Last of Us 2 has been delayed indefinitely, there is still a decent chance that we will see its release sometime this year. The game was canceled only a little over a month away from its original release date. It is very likely that the game is all wrapped up and Sony is just looking for a better time to release it.
