Pokémon Sword & Shield Both Sold Well Despite A Lot of Pre-Release Controversy
Despite a lot of pre-release criticism over missing Pokémon, poor animations, reused models, and visual glitches, Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield were able to sell over 6 million copies combined during their launch week, The Pokémon Company announced on Thursday.
According to The Pokémon Company, the latest Pokémon games are the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch games ever. It was also reported on Wednesday that the games sold over 1 million copies combined in Japan within the first three days of release.
As for how Pokémon fans have received these two latest entries, well…the games have a mixed reception among the community. Some fans think that the games are two decent but unspectacular Pokémon games while others think that the games have done nothing to evolve the series and move it forward.
What do you think of this news? If you’ve bought either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield then what do you think of those games so far? Do you think that Game Freak should make more drastic changes to the Pokémon mainline games or is it better for the games to stay as is?
