Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Features the Largest DLC Pipeline in CoD History
During their second quarter 2019 earnings call, Chief Operating Officer at Activision Coddy Johnson confirmed the new Call of Duty lacks the season pass but will not lack DLC. Modern Warfare will apparently include the most post-launch content in Call of Duty franchise history. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25th on Xbox One, PC and will receive content sooner on the PS4. The game is launching with multiple editions, including one that comes with night vision goggles.
Coddy Johnson specifically said on the quarter two earnings call, “Fans will get a first taste of the action in our multiplayer open beta in September. We have a number of surprises in store after that, including the largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history.” It’s likely Modern Warfare will have content trickled in through updates similar to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which requires gamers have the Call of Duty Pass to access the most content. It’s unclear from this statement whether or not this post-launch content pipeline Activision has planned for Modern Warfare will focus on cosmetic skins and gun wraps or if the game will actually feature the most post-launch maps and guns introduced to the game. One thing we don’t want to see continue from Black Ops 4 is weapons being locked behind weapon bribes which are crates that give you a chance at getting the weapon you want.
After seeing that the developers created a wristwatch Tomogotchi, we’re anxious to see what other unexpected content Activision and Infinity Ward has planned for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. What sort of post-launch content would you like to see added to Modern Warfare? What are some of your favorite classic weapons, modes, etc. that you’d like to see in Modern Warfare?
